As we know, we are now doing our midterm tests and these days most teenagers often struggle with exam stress. This stress can be caused mostly from last minute preparation, high expectations from family and teachers, the fear of failing and so much more. So, I'll give you some advice on how to overcome your exam stress so that you can get through this year’s exams smoothly.
My first advice for studying is to try your best to study in advance, try not to study the night before the test especially if you have a lot of topics to review. You can also try using the Pomodoro technique while you're studying. The Pomodoro technique is basically a time management system where you work for 25 minutes then take a five-minute break.
Number 2, if you don’t like reviewing your studies, make sure you’re focused when your teacher is teaching and ask questions if you have any. So, you’ll understand more of the topic and you don't have to spend a lot of time reviewing.
Number 3, remember that your teacher can help you if you’re struggling with a certain topic. I'm pretty sure your teacher would be happy to help if you need assistance. All you have to do is ask them. Remember to ask them at an appropriate time and in an appropriate manner.
Number 4, remember that failing won’t be the end of the world. Just because you got a 60 on your test that you studied hard on, doesn’t mean that you are not smart enough. Intelligence is not a primary factor separating you and your classmates. You already tried your best. You can ask your teacher for feedback on your exams and what you can do to get a passing grade score. I believe your teacher in most cases will give you a second chance.
Number 5 is to make sure you’re in a good mood before taking your test. If you have a positive mindset and good mood before you take the test, you can make your exam go by smoothly. Getting enough sleep and listening to happy music could also help to lift your mood.
So, that’s all of the advice I can give you. I hope they can help you get through this year's exams well.
