Chinese New Year Celebration in Preschool Modernhill

Chinese New Year Festival is one of the traditional and important festivals in China, also known as a traditional festival of the Chinese nation. In our school, various celebrations are held every year on the occasion of Chinese New Year Festival, allowing students to feel the strong New Year atmosphere and inherit the profound and extensive Chinese culture.

This year, the Spring Festival falls on February 10, 2024, which is a grand celebration in China. The school's Chinese New Year Festival was held on Monday, February 19, 2024, where Primary and Preschool students gathered on the SHB 5.

The school will be decorated for the festival. From the main gate to every corner of the school, red lanterns and couplets are hung, traditional Chinese paper-cuttings and paintings cover the walls, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the school. School leaders and teachers will also be dressed in gorgeous traditional costumes, joining the students in feeling the festive atmosphere.

The school will host a variety of colourful cultural performances. Students have carefully prepared programs such as singing and dancing, martial arts performances, and recitations of Dizi Gui, showcasing the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation. Amid cheerful music, students sing and dance, expressing their good wishes for the New Year.

The school organizes various traditional cultural experience activities. For example, students can make lanterns, write couplets, and experience the joy of traditional handicrafts; they can also learn traditional folk customs such as dragon and lion dances, personally experiencing the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Overall, the school's celebration of the Spring Festival is rich and colourful, with a variety of activities and content. This not only enriches the students' extracurricular lives but also deepens their understanding and love for Chinese traditional culture.
