With the theme of developing strong work ethics, internship program of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill aims to develop work ethics since school. In addition, the internship program aims to foster students' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills. Currently, internship programs are not only carried out by college students or students from vocational schools, but high school students undergo internship programs to help them determine study majors that suit their interests and talents. The internship program provides an overview of the work they will do in the future.
The internship program lasts for nine days in profit-oriented and non-profit oriented organisations. A total of 25 students chose profit-oriented organisations as places for internships in various business fields. The details are as follows: retail companies, restaurants and cafes, beauty clinics, insurance offices, law offices, garment companies, and waste processing company. These companies are partly family businesses of the students. Meanwhile, the other four students chose non-profit organisations, namely universities and ministries, as places for internships.
After the internship program, students are required to present the results of their internship activities which are assessed by a panel of judges, namely competent teachers. Later, two students with the best presentations performance will be selected from the science major, and one student from the social studies major. The students with the best presentations performance will again present the results of their internship in front of their classmates and parents. The students presented their internship results using templates from the Canva site. In addition, they are required to prepare papers using Indonesian. Presentation slides and papers will become student projects for related subjects as well as the “Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5)” as an implementation of the “Merdeka” Curriculum.
Their presentation material includes a profile of the company where they interned which includes history, business processes and business models. Second, the activities carried out by students during their internship from the first day to the last day. The third thing is the work ethics implemented in the organisation. Fourth, the benefits gained by students after participating in internship activities. And the last one is constructive input from students to improve the organisation where they interned.
