GALUNGAN CELEBRATION AND DONATION GIVING SD HARAPAN BANGSA MODERNHILL

This year, students of SD Harapan Bangsa Modernhill celebrated Galungan Day for the first time. The Galungan celebration was held on Friday, April 25, 2025. This activity is an important part of realizing the vision and mission of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa,  “Knowledge, Faith, and Character”. Students of SD Harapan Bangsa celebrated Galungan Day by sharing donations and taking a journey of faith to Pura Amrta Jati Cinere. With the blessings and holy light of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, the entire series of events went well and smoothly. This year's Galungan celebration took the theme “Meaning Galungan Day in Religious Diversity”, as an effort to strengthen the values ​​of tolerance between religious communities, especially in the Harapan Bangsa Modernhill School environment and community.

The series of events began with an opening prayer led by Anditasari, 4th grade student, followed by a welcoming speech from the Head of School of Harapan Bangsa Modernhill, Ms. Melany. The event became more solemn with the reading of the Vedas, the Pendet Dance, and the delivery of the Dharma Wacana by Panditha Karnadi. In the Dharma Wacana, Panditha Karnadi gave a message about the importance of being honest, enthusiastic in learning, and controlling oneself as provisions for living life. The Galungan celebration was also increasingly lively with various performances from students participating in the Traditional Dance Extracurricular, such as the Panji Semirang Dance, song offerings from Hindu students, and a Kecak Dance performance from teachers who entertained and inspired all participants.

In addition to the celebration, the Galungan moment is also an opportunity to share love by collecting donations of Rp 5,000,000, – which was then distributed to the Anatha Orphanage in Central Jakarta. After celebrating Galungan, the students continued their faith journey to Pura Amrta Jati Cinere, performed prayers together, and learned more about the meaning and buildings in the temple environment. This activity is a valuable experience to grow Sradha Bhakti to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, build positive character, and instill a sense of love and respect for God and others in everyday life. Hopefully this moment will be an experience that continues to inspire their life journey.
