2024 Youth Camp – The Story

One morning on October 16th, 2024, was not an ordinary day for SHB students. The clock ticking felt slower than usual as it marked the start of the 2024 Youth Camp. So, after having breakfast and a shower, I quickly took my suitcase and got off at SHB. I only waited for about one hour, when at 8, the bus started to drive toward Bogor, the beginning of a three-day, two-night Youth Camp.

We arrived in Bogor at around 10 o’clock and gathered around the grand ballroom of Green Forest Hotel. The air was so cold up there that I needed to wear my cardigan. At the ballroom, we were introduced to the speakers of our religions. After that, we had a 1-hour lunch before we (the Muslims) went to our faith room to do religious session 1 in the Muslim Room.

After the religious session, all the students went down to the hotel field to group for the next two days and played teamwork games. We had a lot of fun playing the games given by the MC, the Mutiara Khatulistiwa touring group. At 17.30, the game was finished, and we went to our hotel room—my room was on floor 2. At 19.00, we had dinner, and one hour later, we had another religious session, and then we went to bed.

I woke up at 5 in the morning; my Muslim fellow also woke up earlier than everyone else as we needed to do our morning prayer, although everyone also did it at 6 o’clock. At 7.30, after having breakfast and a shower, we did our last religious session until 11 o’clock. Then we had lunch until 13.00. Then we had our 2nd teamwork game until 16.00 in the evening, which was fun and interesting. After that, it was supposed to be rest time, but my 9A friends and I prepared for the Talent Show that would be held at night. So long story short, after dinner at 18.30, we went back to the ballroom to watch the talent show until very late, at 22.30 at night!

On the 18th of October, it’s time to leave the hotel. At 8 o’clock we had the last teamwork games. The game was not about the team that had been listed, but it was a work for all of SHB. We all worked together, and the results were amazing! We took a photo of our victory, then quickly packed our luggage and went to the bus at 11.30. After the Muslims did a prayer, at 13.00, we left Bogor. A wonderful experience for me and my friends.
