Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayers for the Christian/Catholic Religion. This sacred day resembles the start of the Lenten/fasting season for Christians. During this fasting season, Christians are not to eat meat, do fewer negative things, and start doing positive things. They also eat vegetables and only fish and meat. They are to complete their fasting season to symbolize the repentance of their false actions to their lord and savior, Jesus Christ. This holy day also reminds Christians that humans are made from dust and should act kind to others and everyone they meet. It was the 5th of March, 2025, when the students and teachers of SHB who hold the religion of Catholic/Christian celebrate the holy day. At 8:30, my Catholic friends and I went to SHB 1’s Gymnasium and celebrated with other teachers, students, and the student’s parents. I thought it was pretty fun. When we arrived, we sat in our seats on the top. My friends and I joked around, and we had a fun time there; my shoelace broke since it was already in poor condition, but my friends and I laughed about it. While Ash Wednesday was going on, we prayed, praised each other, and sang together to resemble the wonderful day. Even though it was a little hot because there was no AC or any coolers, I could still say it was an amazing experience, and I loved attending it.
