Recently, the Cambridge students got their two table tennis tables set back up again. It was due to our principal, Mrs. Silvana Hermosa, asking us after the morning pledge whether we wanted the tables back or not. Obviously we all immediately said yes.
Consequently, the tables were always full of people playing table tennis. There hadn’t been a single day when the students stopped using them. Whether it was early in the morning, recess, lunch or even after school, there would always be someone playing.
Interestingly, the teachers were also able to play against the students, or even dominate them. There are a few, such as Mr. Mutamar, Li Kai Laoshi and more. Their spins and chops are deadly and amazing at the same time.
Furthermore, people have the stereotype of Chinese people being extremely good at table tennis. Despite this, the best players from our school are not Chinese. This tells us that we shouldn’t stereotype anyone.
Sadly, our school’s roof broke down during the massive and heavy rain that just happened a while ago. This caused the rain to be able to go in and flood our hall, and so they had to put the tables back to the storage room to prevent them from getting damaged.
Until now, the tables aren’t back up again, as the upcoming week is going to be the week of term 2 exams. I hope everyone is going to be able to study hard and get good scores, and we’ll get the ping pong tables back soon!
