One of the four major Chinese holidays, the Lunar New Year is a long-awaited festival every year, because during this holiday, we can sit together at a round table to have a reunion dinner, set off firecrackers, and watch dragon and lion dances. SHB Modernhill inherits the tradition of celebrating the Lunar New Year. Although the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2020 is on 26th January, SHB Modernhill celebrated it on 4th February this year.
The activity started at 8:30 in the morning. Not only did the junior and senior high school students bring us a wonderful lion dance performance, but they also successfully performed “Piao Xiang Zui” dance. Learning a language is not always in the classroom using whiteboards and textbooks, but also it can be done through by singing. Proving this, our junior high school students performed a song with the theme of discipline culture of Chinese children called “Dizigui”. This song was very melodious.
At the end of the celebration, the students received a red envelope from the principal and teachers, and the students were very happy. The homeroom teachers and their students also enjoyed fried noodles, “rat-shaped” bun, and rice cakes in the classroom. Finally, the Spring Festival of the Year of the Rat 2020 at SHB Modernhill was successfully done.
