I have admired my brother since I was a child because he is a good and responsible older brother who is always patient with me. After graduating from junior high, he became increasingly involved in activities such as the church ministry, becoming a member of the student council, and studying hard for his future. He always had good grades in high school in order to get praise from his parents and for his own satisfaction.
Following his graduation from high school, he enrolled in a pilot program in Banyuwangi, and we were separated for 8 months. He later announced that he had competed in a global English speech competition and won the second place. My parents and I were very proud of him. He is now well-known at his campus as a result of his success in winning the English speech trophy.
He worked very hard in college to become a successful person like his father, and now he can fly a plane and get a pilot's license, and he will be a successful person like his father in a year. Why does my brother motivate me? Because he never gives up on what he wants to achieve for his future. I aspire to be like him and be a successful person whom my parents can be proud of.
Hopefully, I will be able to overcome the negative thoughts in my head in order to keep moving forward in the future. I recall my brother’s words, “Don't listen to those who look down on you; they're simply jealous of your talent. Don't squander your abilities.” These words have always fuelled my desire to pursue my dream even more.
