CELEBRATING THE 81ST ANNIVERSARY OF INDONESIAN INDEPENDENCE

On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, all students of Harapan Bangsa Junior and Senior High Schools, together with teachers, academic staff, and representatives of the Harapan Bangsa Foundation, came together to celebrate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia by participating in a flag-raising ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by all students from Harapan Bangsa Kindergarten and Elementary School. The ceremony was conducted in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, led by Mrs. Emy Sumardja, Principal of Modernland Elementary School.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, students participated in a variety of exciting inter-class competitions, bringing energy, laughter, and enthusiasm to the celebration. The competitions included tug of war, sack races, and gobak sodor, a traditional Indonesian team game. These activities provided students with an opportunity to strengthen friendships, develop teamwork, and demonstrate good sportsmanship.

The celebration was further enlivened by a food and beverage bazaar, organized as part of the students’ Economics class project. Through this activity, students not only enjoyed the festive atmosphere but also gained hands-on experience in applying economic and entrepreneurial concepts.

Filled with togetherness, enthusiasm, and joy, the 81st Independence Day celebration became a memorable occasion for the entire Harapan Bangsa community.
