Every year Sekolah Harapan Bangsa organises an internship programme to year 11 students to introduce them to a real-life working experience. The internship programme is held on the 1st to 11th of February 2021. This year's internship programme is not like any other since students were advised to work from home due to COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the students did not experience the traditional in-person internship, it could still give students the opportunity to gain valuable employability skills.
We have asked one of our friends a few questions regarding the internship program. His name is Angelo and he decided to intern at his father’s company, PT. Tranindo Usaha Indonesia (TUI), as an assistant manager. His work as an assistant manager is to prepare several documents for export and looking for exportable markets. Angelo realises that working is more tiring and more difficult compared to studying at school, and the time given to collect tasks are much more limited than the time given by our teachers at school to collect assignments. The following is a testimony from our friend Angelo regarding the internship programme: “I personally think this internship programme is good because it provides us some real life working experience so later it can be applied to our future jobs or upcoming jobs.”
