Entrepreneurship Day is an annual event for SMA Harapan Bangsa Modernhill. The theme for this year is “Create wonderful start-up businesses: align to Environmental, Social, and Governance principles”. This theme continues the previous year's theme of Sustainable Development Goals.
This event was held online through Google Meet by inviting guest speakers and judges. The first guest speaker was Pak Reza, CEO of PT. Juara Roti Indonesia for the brand ROPI!!!. This business was founded to provide affordable Mexican-style buns to the public. Currently, the company has 62 active outlets across the islands of Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan and has a production house in Central Java. This brand chose to work with social media influencers and give gold prizes to customers, as a marketing strategy to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The second guest speaker was Pak Abriansyah, the founder of both Athlimah Sport and Gaya Bahasa Institut. He is an MBA graduate from Germany who chose to return to Indonesia. Athlimah Sport was established to answer the needs of the Muslim community so that they can exercise according to sharia and also be trendy. Meanwhile, Gaya Bahasa Institut was started when the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted social mobility, yet many people here still wanted to learn foreign languages through online media. Students responded enthusiastically with many questions for both Pak Abriansyah and Pak Reza.
In the second session of this event, students competed in the business plan pitch-up in front of a competent judges. The first judge was a lecturer from Prasetiya Mulya University, Pak Iwan Kahfi, an expert in the field of entrepreneurship. The second judge was the head of the Skystar capital venture program at Media Nusantara University, Renaldo Sutjiady. Students presented their business plans and answered questions from the judges. High school students were represented by Kojo Aquaponic and Green Goblin from grade 12, D' Jadies and Gustoso from grade 11, and Nostalgie and Goodbliss from grade 10. While junior high school students were represented by Acqua and Bamboobam from grade 9, Dorella and Bracekeys from grade 8, and Cacti & Cacti from 7th grade. D' Jadies won at the high school level, while Cacti & Cacti won at the junior high level.
This event became an unforgettable experience for our students, particularly for those who successfully presented and defended their projects in front of the judges. They also got extraordinary insights from the two judges. We look forward to the Entrepreneurship Day 2023 event and to the exciting challenges the 2023 event is sure to deliver.
