REDEFINING UNITY AND LOVE FOR THE NATION WITH THE YOUTH PLEDGE COMMEMORATION

The 28th of October was the day when young men and women from every part of Indonesia were united to achieve their goal: independence. The Youth Pledge is more than just words. It has meaningful values of patriotism and nationalism of the nation.
For today’s generation, the sacred values of Youth Pledge can be applied into our daily life, such as preserving local cultures, speaking in proper Indonesian language and respecting diversity. Sekolah Harapan Bangsa held an assembly dedicated for this commemoration. The students watched a video about the brief history of how the Youth Pledge was created and a poetry recital presented by the Student Council. The aim of this event is to grow the students’ love for the nation and awareness of Indonesian unity.
