Fun Cooking

On March 30, 2022, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Preschool Modernhill held an online “Fun Cooking Day” activity in their respective classes. This activity has been carried out several times before the pandemic too. The purpose of this activity is to help children in the building and develop creativity, independence, and responsibility.

The event started by singing a few songs about fruits and then continued with information about the activities that will be done. After that, the teacher began to introduce the names of fruits and the ingredients used to make fruit salad and showed them to the children. The activity was continued by making fruit salad together online. In this activity, For KA, the class teacher asked the parents to prepare the required materials such as; the fruits already cut cube size, grated cheese, and other ingredients. Then for the KB class, the teacher asks parents to prepare the same ingredients, only for KB the teacher gives the opportunity for children to be able to use a knife to cut fruit into cubes, and grate the cheese themselves, of course with assistance from adults in their respective homes. With the teacher's instructions, children are allowed to make their own at home.

With this activity, it is hoped that the Harapan Bangsa School Kindergarten children will get new experiences, can improve fine motor skills, can show their talents and interests, get hands-on experience and get to know various objects or ingredients before cooking.
