My Chinese New Year

When Chinese New Year is coming, my family and I always go to our grandma’s house. We usually go to grandma’s house the day before Chinese New Year. When we arrive, usually all the women will cook together and the children will play and joke together, while the men watch TV or play cards and wait until the food is done. When the food is done, we eat together and tell jokes together. After we eat, the men always continue playing cards and the women talk about people and gossip. After that we go to Vihara to pray with our family.

On the morning of Chinese New Year, my family, and all my siblings including my grandma and my grandfather prepare for the day ahead. After we are all done, we start to look for angpao. From morning until night we look for angpao. My grandfather has eight siblings, so we must go to their houses because this is Chinese New Year. After we go to his siblings’ houses, we go to my grandma’s house and stay there for one day. That’s all about how my family and I celebrate Chinese New Year, and we all wish you a Happy Chinese New Year 2020!
