My First Mountain Climbing

I have had many memorable moments, but the mountain hike that I had with my aunties and cousins in September 2019 is a special one.

The day we arrived in Purwokerto, we took a train from Jakarta to Purwokerto. we arrived in Purwokerto at 11 pm. And then we took a van to Dieng, the weather there was very cold. At 5 o’clock, we arrived at Gardu Pandang Tieng to see the sunrise, the sunrise was really beautiful, we took a lot of pictures there. After we saw the sunrise, we had our first breakfast near our hotel, we had soto, fried tempe and hot tea. It was really good because the weather is so cold. After that, we went to some temples there, and our tour guide told us some history of the temples. We had a great time there. Later that day, we went to our hotel. I liked our hotel, because it’s simple yet so comfortable. Finally, we had our rest time. It was almost midnight, but some were sleeping, while others were chatting and playing with their phones.

The next day, we went to the mountain base camp, we had to list our things, because we couldn’t bring too many things to the mountain. The journey to the top was very exciting and the people were very friendly. There were 3 paths to the top, and we chose the third path because the road was more gentle. The path we chose had 3 stops, on the 2nd stop, we had our snack and we rested for a while. We arrived on the top at 5 pm. We took some pictures and we looked for the right spot our tents. The part that scared me the most was the time we lost the tour guide that had been guiding us for the last couple of hours. It was 7 pm, and the fog was starting to fall so the temperature was getting colder and our vision was getting cloudy. After an hour looking for the guide, we found him just behind the rocks not too far away from where we were. He fell asleep while we were taking pictures. 

The morning we woke up to, the sunrise was very beautiful. We took our time looking up to the sky and enjoying the beauty. At 7 am we began to go down from the mountain. I felt exhausted from the hike but the view was worth the journey!
