Another Chinese New Year has passed. And just like every other year, friends and families put work aside to gather round and celebrate together. Even though we’re in a pandemic, this year’s festivities went on as usual, which is great.
Chinese New Year is a very special occasion to many people. It is an annual occurrence, and the theme changes every year. This year, we have the Year of the Tiger! Usually, every year our school creates annual events related to Chinese New Year. Although this year due to COVID, we couldn’t celebrate with those like we used to.
Many people host gatherings with their family during Chinese New Year. But even if you’re only gathering with a small group of people, always remember to follow safety protocols. COVID isn’t over, and cases are rising by the minute. Avoid excessive physical contact, and always keep a safe distance from others. Remember to sanitize often and always wear a mask. If you feel unwell, avoid meeting with other people, and take a COVID test if necessary.
We might be in a pandemic, but the spirit has never been higher! Happy Chinese New Year, may this year bring luck and prosperity to you all.
