Character Seminar Anti-Bullying “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully”

On December 17, 2025, SD Harapan Bangsa Modernland, in collaboration with Smartick, conducted a character seminar with the theme “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.” This seminar was aimed at helping students understand what bullying is, the different forms of bullying, and how to prevent bullying, especially in the school environment.

The speaker, who is also one of the founders of Smartick Indonesia, Kak Waitatiri, along with her team, enthusiastically delivered the materials that had been well prepared in advance. For Grades 1, 2, and 3, the seminar was held from 07.30 to 08.30 in the Primary Hall. The activity began with an ice-breaking session led by Kak Wai and her team, followed by the main material presentation and a short anti-bullying novel written by Kak Wai. The session concluded with group games designed to help students get to know one another better and to minimize bullying among peers.

For Grades 4, 5, and 6, the seminar was also conducted by Kak Wai and her team in the 4th floor hall. In addition, there was an introduction to Smartick, an online mathematics-based learning application. This application is expected to help students make good use of their free time at home, with parental guidance, and to help minimize the occurrence of various forms of bullying.

All students looked happy and enthusiastic throughout the activities. In addition, the school also awarded certificates to all students who participated in the seminar.
