Harapan Bangsa Modernhill Elementary School students held a Dharma Santi Activity in commemoration of Nyepi Day on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Dharma Santi was carried out solemnly in an atmosphere of togetherness. This activity serves as a means to instill good values in Harapan Bangsa Modernhill School students from an early age, in line with the school's vision of Knowledge, Faith, and Character.
Dharma Santi holds profound meaning as a moment for mutual forgiveness, fostering peace, and strengthening relationships. Through this activity, students are encouraged to understand that living in harmony, respecting one another, and sharing are essential components of Dharma teachings.
The event began with an opening remark by the MC, followed by a communal prayer and remarks from the Principal. The serene atmosphere was further enhanced by the recitation of Vedic scriptures, which provided calm and spiritual meaning for all participants in the Dharma Santi event.
One of the main series of activities was the Dharma Wacana delivered by Jro Mangku Karnadi, S.Pd.H., M.Si., with the theme “Dharma Santi as a Form of Harmony in Diversity.” He emphasized that a peaceful life begins with oneself, through an attitude of mutual forgiveness, honesty, kindness, and respect for differences. These values are in line with the teachings of Tri Hita Karana, namely maintaining harmonious relationships between humans and God, fellow humans, and the environment.
In addition to receiving spiritual learning, students of Harapan Bangsa Modernhill Elementary School were also invited to practice the value of caring through donation activities. With full sincerity, Harapan Bangsa Kindergarten-Elementary School students together with teachers donated Rp 8,850,000,- (eight million eight hundred and fifty thousand rupiah) which was then distributed to the Anantha Hindu Orphanage Foundation. This activity teaches children the meaning of sharing, empathy, and gratitude from an early age. The values of peace, caring, and togetherness from this activity are expected to continue to grow and develop in every Harapan Bangsa School student.
The Dharma Santi activities also featured various artistic performances, such as the Pendet Dance, the Condong Dance, the Barong Dance, the song “Saraswati,” and performances by teachers. Furthermore, interfaith prayers served as a crucial moment in instilling tolerance and respect for diversity in all students.
