People can enjoy stories in many ways, from books to going to the cinema to watch a movie. Stories can either be funny and entertaining to watch or read, or they can be interesting in other ways.
Reading a book allows people to create the story themselves through their imagination. They usually contain more detail about characters, places, and things that happen in stories than movies. The thing I find best about reading books is that they show us the characters’ thoughts and feelings and allow us to connect with the story and characters more. Reading a book also means you are in control of what you are watching, and you can reread the part that you liked most.
Watching a movie is a different way of receiving a story. Movies present a story by showing you what everything looks like. This can be nice if you like to see visuals of places and characters. Movies are generally quite fast, meaning people can watch a story rather than sitting for days and trying to find time to read one.
I think it would be better to read a book over a movie, in my opinion, because it shows a character's thoughts, not just what they are saying. This can allow people to tell what is happening a little better. I feel, however, that it depends entirely on the book. Some books I feel don't get me at all, but a well-written book can be way better than a movie based on the same story. Similarly, there can be amazing movies based on books, which make the original story more interesting.
In conclusion, I feel both books and movies can be entertaining to the person. There is the feeling and attachment you get from characters from a book, and there are the visuals from a movie, and the speed of the story. Ultimately, it is up to personal choice, but I generally prefer books.
