“Pajamas Day – Space Explorer”

Exploring Outer Space in Your Favorite Pajamas
On Friday, August 28, 2026, the atmosphere at the Modernhill Harapan Bangsa Preschool felt different than usual. Instead of their regular school uniforms, the children came to school wearing comfortable and cute colorful pajamas. With the theme “Pajamas Day: Space Explorer,” this thematic activity combined the comfort of bedtime with an imaginative adventure exploring the universe.
This activity aimed to foster the children’s creativity and imagination through sensory exploration, develop their social and fine motor skills, and help build a positive perception of bedtime routines (reducing fear of the dark/nyctophobia).
Background of the Thematic Activity and Objectives of the Activity
Early childhood (ages 3–6) is a crucial “golden age” during which children’s sensory exploration, creativity, and social interactions develop at a rapid pace. On the other hand, the bedtime routine often poses a unique challenge for parents. Yet, the time before bed actually holds great potential for fostering a sense of comfort, strengthening bonds, and serving as a vehicle for imaginative learning.
By combining the cozy atmosphere of a Pajamas Party with the magic of the “Space Explorer” theme, this activity offers a unique and interactive learning adventure. Children are invited to embark on an imaginative space mission to express their creativity while building positive.
The purpose of this activity is
A Series of Events Full of Magic

The event began with a group prayer, followed by a welcome address and instructions from the Principal, Ms. Neneng Sahwana. The children were then invited to sing and dance together to boost their spirits before embarking on their space mission.
Guided by Ms. Risa, the young space explorers were invited to observe and conduct simple science experiments, such as “Making a Rocket” (a simple rocket launch) and “Erupting Moon Rocks.” These activities sparked the children’s curiosity about science and natural phenomena.
The children run joyfully while practicing their gross motor skills and body coordination in a game of catching stars in the play area.
With the help of their homeroom teachers, students navigate agility obstacles just like aspiring astronauts training before a spaceflight.
Time to recharge! The children enjoy a delicious treat of pizza and popcorn. During this time, students practice self-help skills such as eating neatly, learning to share, and taking responsibility for cleaning up and disposing of their dishes in the trash.
The room is transformed into a magical stargazing space using a projector that projects patterns of the moon and stars across the entire room. The children watch an educational movie about space in a warm and magical atmosphere.
After a series of exciting activities, the children are invited to take a short break (relaxation time), listen to soothing music, and enjoy the calming evening atmosphere.
