When it is time to study for a test , or even before a test , it can be difficult to find extra material to study from.
Do you know how to study from the Internet ? – The Internet has a huge amount of extra material to help you , and teachers use the Internet to find extra material and interesting videos for the classroom also.
The easiest way is to go to ‘google’ first. Type in the topic and start at the top of the suggested links to find the websites that are suitable for you. You can find explanations for what you are learning , exercises with the answers , and usually some excellent Youtube videos to spark your interest.
For English , if you want to know the topics to type into google , you can look at the Grammar Focus pages at the back of the Student Book. Also , it is easy just to ask your teacher for suggestions. There is a lot of material to be found at all different levels : Beginner , Elementary , Intermediate ….
For Maths and Science , again it is easy to just start with google. However , I have two favourites that I think are fabulous. For Maths , my son and I always start with mathsisfun.com. This site has very clear explanations and exercises appropriate for many levels. For Maths and Science , we also look at www.khanacademy.org . This is very helpful as the videos are very informative in giving clear explanations of how to solve problems or learn some wonderful Science facts.
As most kids already know , the Internet is a world of eye-opening possibilities and this is definitely the case for studying at home. It also breaks up the boredom of turning over pages in your school books !
