The Importance of Education

Education is very important for our life. If you go to school and listen to the teacher very well you will be someone; such as businessman, doctor, engineer, manager, etc. You can reach your own goal for future by your own desire. However, if you think education isn’t important for your life, you can be pendicapman, or beggar. Even though you are rich you can get scammed by smarter people that need money.

I am so proud to be an SHB student, because SHB has a good educational program. Besides English, SHB teaches us mandarin and the Indonesian language. There are native speakers of English and Mandarin. That makes us more interested in going to school at SHB.

Remembering National Educational Day Of Indonesia (HARDIKNAS or Hari Pendidikan Nasional), we have to continue the messages of Ki Hajar Dewantara; such as tut wurihandayani (a leader must provide the moral and self-esteem boost from the rear), Ing Madyo Mbangun Karso (a leader in the middle of preoccupations should be able to arouse or inspire the spirit), Ing Ngarso Sun Tulodo (to become a leader must be able to provide role models for people around him). He wanted us as the younger generation to continue to grow Indonesian education. Ki Hajar Dewantara made a school called Taman Siswa to provide education for the native population. It was established in July 1922 and it is located at Yogyakarta.

In Indonesia there are many poor people that don’t have money to pay the school fee. So, they can’t get an education, but there are some people have a lot of spirit and a great desire towards education. I have seen some people have a strong desire to improve her/his education. Even though she/he has no money but she/he tries her/his best for an education. She/he works hard from the morning until the afternoon, so that later on she/he will go to college and be able to pay her/his college fee with her/his own money.
