Juli 30, 2017Every student must need a holiday, right? Everyone wants to have a holiday. During the holidays, we can spend time with family, enjoy recreational activities, travel, and refresh ourselves. School holidays are especially important because they are a time when we can take a longer break from our normal activities. Generally, these holidays happen in the middle and at the end of the year.
Last year, during the June school holiday, I went to Medan. I woke up about 3 o’clock in the morning, then I took a shower and got ready to go to the airport with my family. We arrived at the airport around 4:30 a.m. and boarded the airplane about 5:30. It took about an hour and a half to arrive in Medan. When we arrived, we got on a bus and the tour guide explained what we would do that day.
After about an hour into a long ride, we stopped at a restaurant to eat our lunch. When we finished, we got on the bus again and went to the next destination. This was an island called Samosir in the middle of a lake called Toba. We went there by boat. It took around 30 minutes. My family and I stayed there for two nights.
About 7:00 p.m., we all went down to eat dinner, and after we ate dinner, we went to our rooms and went to sleep. The next day I woke up about 5:50 in the morning. I took a shower and went down to eat breakfast. About 7:30 a.m. we went to the other side of Samosir island using a boat. It took about 15 minutes. When we arrived, we could see many people selling things that are hard to find in Tangerang. We also saw a traditional Batak house and we tried to learn a traditional Batak dance, too. We listened to a traditional story called Si Gale- Gale and many others.
The next day, we left Samosir island and continued our journey using a bus. The first place we went to was Maimun palace, and then we went to air Sipisopiso waterfall. At about 5 o’clock, we went back to the airport and flew home. It was a fun and interesting trip and I got to learn more about different Indonesian culture.
