Easter, one of the most important holidays of the year and probably the most fun, was one I loved the most. Usually, we would try to stand up, decorate eggs, and eat delicious food – yum! And celebrating the resurrection of the holy being, Jesus Christ, from the dead. I remember those previous Easter days having a ton of laughter, cheer, and joy! I was expecting this year would be the same, even better! Until… fever caught me.
I prepared a bag, picked up an outfit, things to bring for church, and a ton of alarms! I woke up. It was 6 am, which was early since we only had to go at 8 o’clock. I felt dizzy and cold – I was wondering what had happened to me and said to myself, “I’ll just sleep 5 more minutes, and I will be fine again.” I woke up, realized I'd overslept, and called my mom to say I felt bad. She said that I got a fever and should rest. I argued that Easter is something I would never miss. In the end, what can I say? Moms are always right, so I gave up and went to sleep, feeling sad about missing it.
I woke up again – it was 12 pm, I went downstairs and saw my parents and sister already back home. I was disheartened about skipping Easter until I saw my family with a lot of eggs, paint, and food! They said that we should celebrate it together, and so we did! We had a blast, though it was a bit different than the routine. I can say that I was probably the best one.
