When Jacob Portman was still a young boy, his grandfather told him a story about living on an island in a children’s home where each child had an unusual ability. One day his grandfather was killed by a mysterious monster in the woods, and the monster took his eyes. Jacob began to explore his grandfather’s strange past. He tried to investigate the children’s home on an island to find out if the stories were true or not.
I really liked the part when Emma and Jacob went underwater and Emma told Jacob about his grandfather’s past. It was romantic and it was probably my favorite part.
There’s a lot of good points in this book. It taught me a lot of things like the importance of love, patience, friendship, and respect.
I really recommend the book because the story was really unique and unusual, although it has a really confusing plot. The only thing I hated about this book was that it didn’t have any pictures so we didn’t really know how to imagine the story. But this book was a bestseller and it was made into a film which was released in 2016.
The film and the book were exactly the same. The film starred Eva Green as Miss Peregrine, Asa Butterfield as Jacob and Ella Purnell as Emma.
