SHB Fest is a festival organized by the student council and teachers of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa.
Students work hard to sell food, drinks, and shirts to raise money in support of the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to YKAKI. SHB Fest is held annually, each year featuring a different theme and numerous competitions. This year's theme is “The Olympian Odyssey”. The competitions include basketball, dance, speech, band, esports, and storytelling. Most importantly, these competitions are meant for the students to have fun—winning or losing doesn't matter.
All SHB students are required to contribute, taking on roles such as ushers, cleaners, or helping with food and beverage services in different shifts. When students are not on duty, they attend their regular classes. Together, we strive to create a great and well-organized festival.
This year's SHB Fest is particularly exciting. The student council designed some amazing merchandise, including shirts and tote bags. I especially love the shirts—they are simple, stylish, and comfortable. Some students also sell the merchandise to students from other schools and even to parents.
The canteen was filled with a variety of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy. This year, there were also many participants from other schools competing in the events, and they were all very professional! As for the concert, I think the artist was decent. Their songs were great—catchy and easy to listen to—and the tickets were affordable.
However, I hope that in the future, SHB Fest could feature a more popular artist that more people would recognize. Lastly, I wish that next year's SHB Fest will see SHB win and make it to the finals!
