The Spring Festival is one of the most solemn and distinctive traditional festivals in China. Generally, it refers to New Year's Eve and the first day of the first lunar month, which is the first day of the year. It is also called the lunar year, commonly known as “Chinese New Year”. Starting from Laba or Xiaonian to the Lantern Festival, it is called Chinese New Year. During the Spring Festival, China's Han and many ethnic minorities hold various activities to celebrate. These activities are mainly about worshiping ancestors and respecting the elderly, praying for thanksgiving and blessings, family reunion, cleaning up the old and bringing in the new, welcoming the new year and receiving good fortune, and praying for a good harvest. They have strong national characteristics.
On February 19, 2024, Harapan Bangsa Primary School held an event to celebrate the Spring Festival. The event takes place at SHB 5 building at 09:00, starting with the opening prayers, and then Mr. Purnawan, assistant to the school director, extended New Year blessings to all guests. Then the principal of the primary school, Ms. Mediana, delivered a speech. Then the Spring Festival program began. Each class prepared its own festival, and other students enjoyed it seriously. There were twelve programs in this event, and each class displayed disciple performances, from grade one to grade six. Emily who is a first-grade student singing the song “Invisible Wings”. The second-grade students showed off the New Year dance, the third-grade students showed off the classical Chinese dance, the fourth-grade students showed off the role play of disciples, and the fifth-grade students showed off the dance of the song “Invisible Wings”, and the sixth grade students come to show the dance of “Dragon's New Year”. Finally, there was a lion dance performance, and then each class took a group photo. The head teacher of each class distributed red envelopes and gift bags to the students. This event ended successfully at 12:00 p.m.
