My Family

Everyone comes from a family. We as humans need love and support of  our parents. I come from a father as a government employee and a mother as a teacher. I have one little brother. I am now almost 14 years old, people say that I am now growing up as a teenager. I realized that I really need love and support of my parents at a time when many things in my life changed. I feel that my parents can keep their relationship strong with me through ordinary daily activities.

My parents and family relations

Many people think that families become less important for their children as they move into the teenage years. But not me, I need my family and support. I remember once my grandfather said that the first education come from families. Within families that we got the first time education. It is our parents who first give instruction to us, such as teaching speaking, walking, politeness and others. Therefore never leave away from family. It is important that we open and close to our parents and siblings, so that we can share experiences and help each other if there are problems and difficulties among family members.

It is true that changing family relationships during adolescence. The role of my parents nurture and guide me deeply when I was a teenager. Now I find that my relationship with my parents became more equal. And my family relationships are likely to remain strong to penetrate.

For me, my family is a source of care and emotional support. Family gives me practical, financial and material assistance. And mostly I still want to spend time with my family, share ideas and have fun.

When I'm depressed or seem uncommunicative, but my parents always approached the way as a “friend”. I love my family and I want my parents to be involved in my life, although sometimes my attitude, behavior or body language may seem to say I was not.

The family is the most important thing for me. They have always supported me. Everyone think friends are more important, but they are not. Friends are great, but they will come and go. The family is always there.

Why do I need a Parent

I need my parents because there are times difficult for me as rapid physical changes and emotional ups and downs. I'm not always sure where I fit, especially in choosing education for my future and I need advice and suggestions from my parents. Support each other can be vital to get a secure emotional base where I as a child feels loved and accepted. Families can build and support the trust, confidence, optimism and my identity. Rules, boundaries and standards of behavior in my family gives me a sense of consistency and predictability. Life experiences and knowledge both inside and outside the family can be really useful for me.

I believe that a close relationship in the family can support and protect me from negative behavior. Family support in my education can increase my desire to do well in academic

Strong family relationships can also help me grow into well-adjusted, mature attention and care.

Things that my family do together to help build and maintain strong relationships:

  • Eat together with family is a great opportunity for us to chat about our day, or about the interesting things that happen or come. If we were eating with family encouraged us to have a and talk. Also, our family find that meals are more enjoyable when TV was not invited!
  • Try to set a time for fun with family – We could all take turns choosing activities. Relaxing holiday or a weekend away together as a family can also build togetherness. Usually we go to the cinema to watch movies, swimming, going to the beach, or sometimes we eat together to a restaurant.
  • My parents always do one-on-one time with their child that gives us the opportunity to stay connected and enjoy each others company. It can also be an opportunity to share ourr thoughts and feelings. We try to find opportunities to have time together.
  • Celebrate our achievements as children, shared the disappointment, and showed interest in our hobbies. Usually our parents give time to watch us in playing sports or music, or encourage us to do our hobbies.
  • We do family tradition, routines and rituals regularly. We set a special date and time. For example, have a movie night together, a favorite food or cooking sessions on certain nights, a family game afternoon or evening walk together.
  • Provide us as children of family household responsibilities by giving us the opportunity to make important contributions to family life. This can be things such as chores, shopping or helping older or younger members of the family.
  • We have family meetings to solve problems. This gives everyone a chance to be heard and help.
