As part of the 2018 SHB Cup , SHB Primary fielded four teams to compete in the Spelling Bee. We had a mix of grade 5 and grade 6 students so that they could work together and build skills in leadership and cooperation.

Held on Wednesday , October 17 , our students skipped the last class of the day and travelled to the SHB Junior/Senior High School for a 1pm start. Run jointly by the High School Student Council and EF Tang City , round 1 of the competition was twenty written words.

Round 2 , with all teams intact , changed to oral spelling. Groups 3 and 4 were knocked out at the conclusion of round 2 , but with Groups 1 and 2 still alive for the final round , the students were confident of at least collecting a trophy.

Round 3 was again spelling the words orally , but this time they did not work together in their teams but individually. By the halfway mark , Group 2 had been relegated to third place overall. The final and deciding word of the competition , ‘ bouquet ‘ , was spelled incorrectly by our opponent , and Group 1 narrowly won the first place.

The trophies and cash prizes were awarded at the SHB Cup Closing Ceremony on Saturday , October 20.

Congratulations to all of our SHB Cambridge Primary students for representing us so well. Their behavior was exemplary and they accepted both victory and loss graciously. Thank you also to the high school student council members for running the competition so well together with the EF Tang City support.

作为2018民望杯的一份子，民望学校剑桥小学安排了4个队伍参加拼字比赛。我们安排了5年级和6年级的学生一起参加，让他们能够一起培养领导能力和团队精神。

比赛举办于2018年10月17日，我们的学生被允许不参加当天的最后一堂课，并到民望学校中学部校楼参加下午1点钟的比赛。本活动是由民望学校的高中学生协会和Tangcity的英孚教育一起举办的比赛。第一回合的比赛是拼写20个单词。

第二回合，所有的队伍一起参加口头拼写。在第二回合的比赛中，第三组和第四组被淘汰，但是第一组和第二组成功了进入决赛，学生很有自信的能够获得奖杯。

第三回合再次进行口头拼写。但是，在本回合里，他们不是在队伍中一起比赛，而且是各有各的口头拼写。比赛到了中途时，第二组总体上已经降到第三位了。比赛的最终决定单词是“Bouquet”。对手拼错了该单词，结果我校的第一组学生成功了获得冠军。

于2018年10月20日的民望杯闭幕仪式里， 颁发了奖杯和现金奖励给拼字比赛的获胜者。

祝贺所有民望学校剑桥小学的学生，已经为我校争光。他们的行为该作为其他学生的好榜样，他们慷慨地接受胜利和失败。同时，也感谢民望学校的高中生协会和Tangcity英孚教育的支持，使本比赛如此顺利的进行。

Sebagai bagian dari kegiatan SHB 2018, Sekolah Dasar Harapan Bangsa ikut berpartisipasi dengan mengirimkan empat tim untuk bersaing dalam “Spelling Bee”. Tim kami terdiri dari gabungan siswa kelas 5 dan kelas 6 sehingga mereka dapat bekerja sama dalam membangun keterampilan dan kepemimpinan.

Kegiatan diadakan pada hari Rabu, 17 Oktober, para siswa kami melewatkan kelas terakhir pada hari itu dan melakukan perjalanan ke SMP / SMA SHB untuk memulai lomba pada pukul 1 siang. Kegiatan ini di koordinasi oleh OSIS SMA dan EF Tang City, putaran pertama dari kompetisi ini adalah dua puluh kata tertulis.

Pada putaran ke dua, dengan semua tim utuh tidak ada yang tersingkirkan dari tertulis berubah menjadi ejaan lisan. Grup 3 dan 4 dari kami tersingkir di akhir putaran 2, tetapi Grup 1 dan 2 masih terus berlomba untuk babak final, para siswa yakin akan membawa piala.

Putaran ke tiga mengeja kata-kata secara lisan, tetapi kali ini mereka tidak bekerja sama dalam tim tetapi secara individual. Dengan setengahnya, Grup 2 telah terdegradasi ke tempat ketiga secara keseluruhan. Kata terakhir yang diberikan merupakan penentuan kata itu adalah , ‘bouquet‘, yang salah dieja oleh lawan kami sehingga grup 1 kami dapat memenangkan meskipun tipis .

Piala dan hadiah uang tunai diberikan pada Upacara Penutupan SHB Cup , Sabtu, 20 Oktober 2018 .

Selamat kepada semua siswa yang mewakili sekolah dengan sangat baik. Perilaku mereka patut dicontoh dan mereka menerima baik kemenangan maupun kehilangan dengan anggun. Terima kasih juga kepada anggota OSIS untuk menjalankan kompetisi dengan sangat baik bersama dengan dukungan EF Tang City.
