Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) is one of the most grand and distinctive traditional festivals among the Chinese people. It is an important part of excellent traditional Chinese culture. It marks the first day of the Lunar New Year (also called the Yin calendar year), which falls on the first day of the first lunar month. It is commonly known as “celebrating the New Year.” The celebration period generally begins from Laba Festival or Little New Year and lasts until the Lantern Festival; all of this period is referred to as “celebrating the New Year.”
On February 20, 2026, Harapan Bangsa Preschool and Primary Department held a celebration for the Spring Festival. This year’s theme was “Success Comes with the Horse.” The event was held at SHB 5 Facilities building starting at 9:00 a.m. Before the event, each class took a group photo as a keepsake.
At 9:00 a.m., the program began with an opening prayer. Then, Preschool Principal Ms. Neneng extended New Year’s blessings to all the guests. After that, the Spring Festival performances officially began. The event opened with a lion dance performance. Then each kindergarten class presented its own festive program.
There were seven performances in total, including: singing and dancing “Gong Xi Fa Cai” and “New Year Song,” a children’s dragon and lion dance, a lantern dance, martial arts, the dance “There Is a Girl,” singing and dancing “Good Fortune Is Coming,” singing “Under Qingcheng Mountain White Suzhen” and dancing to “A Thousand Years of Waiting,” and paper-cutting of the character “Fu” (fortune).
Finally, there was another lion dance performance. Each class teacher distributed red envelopes and gift packages to the students. The event concluded successfully at 11:00 a.m.
