My School, My Life

One month has passed since I started my twelfth year in Sekolah Harapan Bangsa. School plays a big role in our lives. It provides you with a formal structure which helps you to learn self-discipline.  School teaches you how to deal with people with different personalities. Besides academics, school teaches you social skills that you will need for life.

Here in Sekolah Harapan Bangsa, they provide us with remarkable facilities that are very helpful for learning. The most prominent thing that makes Sekolah Harapan Bangsa different from other schools is the fact they provide intensive Mandarin and English lessons everyday.  Language is important to us because it creates connections among people. People will respect you more if you speak more than one language. Through comprehensive curriculum, we can practice these languages everyday to improve our language skills.

With these outstanding facilities, students can study and read books in a supportive atmosphere in the library, play music instruments comfortably, exercise freely in the gym or basketball court. Sekolah Harapan Bangsa also shows responsibility for students’ health. They ensure the canteen serves healthy food.

Sekolah Harapan Bangsa has many wonderful teachers. They are caring and highly educated. The teachers know their own students personally so they can decide what kind of teaching method would fit their own students. They don’t make students feel down. Instead, they allow them to absorb the things they learn.     We don’t learn things monotonously here. Even though we have started this academic year for a month,  we have already had a couple of activities outside the classroom, such as a university visit and an Independence Day competition.  There will be other activities following in the future. This way, it will make students more solid.

This school is filled with amusing and easy going students, interacting in convivial and lively atmosphere. Students meet lots of friends with different personalities, which is good to improve their social skills. We are ready to deal with people who have different attitudes in future. Students in this school like helping each other. They would teach each of their friends to help them to get good scores. They work hard in a team, not letting anyone do the work alone.

I feel really happy to study in Sekolah Harapan Bangsa. I meet lots of different people and improve my learning skills. I hope Sekolah Harapan Bangsa can maintain the quality of their facilities, lessons and teachers.  It will be better if there are lots of outside activities that related to school’s lessons so we can apply those lessons to our daily life.
