As human beings, we need language to communicate with other people. Language is very important way to interact with the people around us. How we feel, what we need, and to ask questions we use language to let others know. When we talk to small children we use different words and tone than adult people. Therefore communication is a two-way side, with the recipient of the message as an important role as the sender. Both a speaking and listening are important for communication to take place.
To communicate effectively, we send a message with words, gestures, or actions, which somebody else receives. True language is that we can connect with other people and make sense of our experiences. Language is obviously a vital tool. It is not only a means of communicating thoughts and ideas, but it forges friendship, cultural ties, and economic relationships.
Language, of course, is knowledge, and in our world today, knowledge is one of the key factors in competitiveness. Brains and knowledge are what we create, the prosperity and growth, we tend to take, for granted. In an advanced industrial society in an increasingly interdependent world, the knowledge of other languages becomes indespensable. Just think of how the advent of internet has changed our lives for the last few years, millions of people across the world, who share common interests, are able to communicate with each other and exchange ideas. Not only they are able to do this due to the various technological advances, but alsobecause they share a common language.
There is, of course, no denying that the knowledge of the English language is one of the most important tools available to us. It is one of the international languages, a tool of communication between countries, cultural groups, various companies and organizations, communities and friends.
Nowadays in the globalization era, there are more developments in this country. Starting from free trade, more foreign firms in Indonesia, so the using of International language such as the English language is so widespread, of course for the prospective job seekers are a must to be able to master English language in order to follow the changing times in this era of globalization. What is the grea influence of English language in the international?
English is the language most widely used in the world. This language is the other tongue for more than 400 million people worldwide. Everday millions of people use English in the workplace and in social life. When heads of state meet, English language is the language most often used.
To improve better English we can try: 1. to learn and remember new words if we memorize them while learning a song. Learn one song a day. 2. call a customer service of an English company and complain aabout something, or just ask about information. 3. offer a free dinner to foreign tourists in town to give us the opportunity of speaking English for free.
Through English language we can connect with other people and make sense of our experiences. The communication skills that we learn early in our life will be the foundation for our communication abilities for the future. Strong English language skills are an asset that will promote a lifetime of effective communication.
It is important to learn other languages besides our own because it helps us to learn about other peoples and cultures but the most important one that we can learn is our own mother tongue as this is the one of the most basic parts of our identity.
