English Day

On Thursday, 1^st September 2016 Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Moderhill, Primary and Preschool held English Day.

Preschool students started their activities with a short assembly in the hall. They sang together and Ms. Dewi as the MC showed them how to play dress ups by putting on her costume a Sari from India. Next the students were shown how to do the Treasure Hunt activity with a dramatization by Ms. Mathers as the teacher and Mr. Matovani as the student.

Students then began their treasure hunt and arts and crafts. During the treasure hunt they had to use English questions and answers instead of clues to get their treasure. For art and craft the students dressed a stick puppet with colourful paper and wool.

After recess Primary had their turn to do the activities the same as preschool. However, instead of grades 4-6 doing arts and crafts they had a special session to develop and create their costume.

As this was a non-competitive activity there were no prizes awarded for the best costumes. However, several students from each class who tried their best in all the activities were given a small token of appreciation for their efforts.

At home time the students were given extra treats to take home as their souvenir.

The teachers also got into the spirit of dressing up, several costumes of note were Ms. Fitri as a Mad Scientist, Ms. Dewi as an Indian princess, Ms. Dede as a Balinese man and Ms.  Dessy as a Bikie.

       2016年9月1日星期四，现代山庄民望学校的小学和幼儿园一起举办了英文活动日。

活动开始，幼儿园的学生集中在学校的大厅，先由主持人Dewi 女士讲解并示范了如何装扮服饰，接着是寻宝活动，通过Mathers女士扮演老师和Mathovani 饰演学生的情景剧来解释寻宝活动的规则。除了寻宝活动，学生们还有手工活动。寻宝活动时，学生必须使用英语来回答问题才能得到宝物。手工活动是学生为冰淇淋棒娃娃穿上漂亮的衣服。

点心时间过后，小学部开始英文日活动。学生也进行了寻宝活动和手工活动，四到六年级的学生手工活动是装扮服饰，这次活动不是比赛性质的活动，因此没有最佳服装奖等名次。但是主办单位还是挑选了几名服装装扮出色的学生给予小礼品作为奖励。

活动结束后，学生们还得到了丰富的小礼品。

这次活动中也有几位老师的服装也很出色如：Fitri女士的科学怪人、Dewi女士的印度公主、Dede先生的巴厘岛绅士和Dessy女士的飙车族装扮。[:id]

TK dan SD Harapan Bangsa menyelenggarakan acara ‘English Day’ pada hari Kamis, 1 September 2016.

Kegiatan siswa/I TK dimulai dengan assembly singkat di aula sekolah. Mereka bernyanyi bersama. Mereka menyaksikan Bu Dewi memeragakan cara mengenakan kostum India, Sari. Kemudian mereka menyaksikan pertunjukan drama ‘Memburu Harta Karun’ yang diperagakan oleh Bu Mathers dan Pak Mathovani.

Setelah itu mereka memulai kegiatan ‘Memburu Harta Karun’ dan kerajinan tangan. Dalam kegiatan ‘Memburu Harta Karun’ mereka tidak menggunakan petunjuk-petunjuk melainkan bertanya-jawab dalam bahasa Inggris. Untuk kegiatan kerajinan tangan mereka membuat boneka yang terbuat dari stik es krim, kertas warna-warni dan benang wol.

Setelah istirahat pertama siswa/I SD bergiliran untuk melakukan kegiatan yang sama dengan TK. Namun untuk kelas 4 s/d 6 mereka membuat kreasi tersendiri untuk kostum yang mereka kenakan.

Walaupun bukan sebuah perlombaan kostum terbaik, kami tetap memberikan penghargaan untuk beberapa siswa di setiap kelas atas usaha terbaik  yang telah mereka lakukan.

Siswa/i membawa pulang  ‘hadiah’ tambahan di dalam tas lipat mereka.

Para guru juga memakai kostum-kostum yang menarik. Diantaranya adalah Bu Fitri sebagai ilmuwan, Bu Dewi sebagai putri India, Pak Dede sebagai orang Bali, dan Bu Dessy sebagai seorang pembalap.
