Science and IPTEK Fair

On Friday, 20 January 2017, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Primary Modernhill, held a Science and Technology Fair. The event was opened with a presentation from P2TELIMEK-LIPI with their robot.

There were two sessions held during the event. During the first session, the students visited all the booths and the second session was watching Science clips and creating science products.

There were eight different booths showing different science exhibits. Students entered the Panda Mobile from WWF. In there the students watched a video about nature and animals. They enjoyed the time watching the video. When visiting DIGIKIDZ and ROBOKIDZ, the students were able to try making model robots. While at Competition Table, Jeff and Matthew Sidik (students from grade 7 SHB Junior High School Modernhill) had the opportunity to show their Science project they made when they joined the Kalbe Junior Science Award (KJSA) competition last year. They motivated other students to create better projects for similar competitions.

At Rumah Ilma and Rumah Explorasi, students could see and try the science exhibits and also learnt about their relation to the subjects studied in class. After seeing the opening with the robot, students also got the opportunity to operate the robot using a mobile phone. There was a music booth where the students could see the representation of sound into graphics.

We were also visited by the Tzu Chi Foundation for Humanity. They brought many items that are made from recycled plastic. They explained the process of converting plastic bottles into a small beads, then how they use them to make different things such as cutlery, bags, clothes, etc. Students could learn to be more concern about environment.

于2017年1月20日（星期五），现代山庄民望学校小学部举办了科学及技术展。活动开始的时候由P2TELIMEK-LIPI（印度尼西亚科学院的电源和机电一体化研究中心）展现他们的机器人项目。

活动分为两个阶段。第一个阶段，让学生参观所有展会的摊子。第二个阶段就是观看科学短影片以及制作科学化的作品。

当时，有8个摊子展现不同的科学化作品。学生们进入来自世界自然基金会（英文World Wide fund for Nature）的熊猫移动车辆（英文：Panda Mobile）。在里面，学生观看有关自然及动物的影片。他们很喜欢此影片。当他们参观DIGIKIZ及ROBOKIDZ的摊子，学生获得机会制作机器人的样板。此外，现代山庄民望学校初中生，Jeff及Matthew Siddik(第七年级的学生)参加科学比赛的时候，他们获得机会展现自己的科学项目。他们展现了去年参加Kalbe Junior Science Award（简称KJSA）举办的科学项目。

在Rumah Ilma及 Rumah Explorasi的摊子，学生们获得机会观看及试用科学化的作品， 并能够了解他们在课堂所学的一切与此项目的关联。观看了机器人之后，他们也获得机会使用遥控器控制机器人。当时，也有音乐摊子，学生可以看到声音的表示形成为图形。

我们也参观了慈济基金会的摊子。他们带了很多使用塑料制作的作品。他们解释了将塑料瓶子变成小珠子的过程，然后用它们来制作不同的物品，如餐具，袋子，衣服等。从此，学生们意识到如何更加关心环境。

Pameran Sains dan Teknologi diselenggarakan di SD Harapan Bangsa Modernhill pada hari Jumat, 20 Januari 2017. Pembukaan acara dibuka oleh P2TELIMEK – LIPI dengan robot mereka.

Acara ini berlangsung selama 2 sesi. Sesi pertama yaitu mengunjungi semua booth yang tersedia. Lalu sesi kedua diisi dengan menonton cuplikan mengenai Sains dan Teknologi. Pada sesi kedua, para siswa juga membuat mainan edukatif yang berkaitan dengan Sains.
Setiap booth memberikan pengarahan dan pengetahuan yang berbeda-beda. Di dalam PANDA MOBILE milik WWF, para siswa dapat menonton program mengenai hewan langka dan alamnya. Mereka sangat menikmati program tersebut. Pada saat siswa-siswa mengunjungi DIGIKIDZ dan ROBOTKIDZ, mereka diperkenalkan dasar-dasar pembuatan robot dengan membuat miniaturnya terlebih dahulu.
Booth kompetisi diisi oleh Jeff dan Matthew Sidik (siswa kelas 7 SMP Harapan Bangsa Modernhill) yang pernah mengikuti kompetisi Sains di Kalbe Junior Science Award (KJSA). Mereka memberi inspirasi kepada para siswa lainnya.
Sedangkan di Rumah Eksplorasi dan Rumah Ilma, para siswa melihat dan mencoba berbagai macam eksperimen yang menyenangkan. P2TELIMEK – LIPI memperkenalkan robot mereka yang dapat digerakkan dengan menggunakan remote dari sebuah telepon genggam. Siswa pun diperbolehkan untuk mencobanya. Mereka sangat antusias dengan program ini. Yang tak kalah menarik yaitu booth Musik yang memperkenalkan bentuk suara dan kaitannnya dengan tinggi rendah suara. Para siswa pun dapat mempraktekkannya dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen musik.
Di booth YAYASAN TZU CHI, para siswa dijelaskan proses produksi bahan plastik menjadi butir-butir plastik yang kemudian dibuat menjadi benang. Butir-butir plastik tersebut kemudian dapat dibuat menjadi barang-barang. Sehingga tidak diperlukan membuat plastik baru lagi. Sedangkan benangnya dapat digunakan untuk membuat bahan pakaian. Secara garis besar, para siswa mendapat arahan untuk mengurangi pemakaian plastik untuk lingkungan yang lebih baik.
