I’ve been studying in SHB since I was 4 years. The facilities in SHB are really good. They prepare pretty much everything we need for school. They have nice classes, a library, a canteen, a basketball court, a gym, a volleyball court and an auditorium too. SHB is also quite clean. The class is really nice and tidy. In the class, they even prepare a projector.
The teachers in SHB are all really nice. They are patient, and always make sure all of the students understand the lesson. They are really friendly, but strict at the same time. They are really strict about the things we should not do, like bullying, or not keeping our cellphones in the locker, where it should be, and other things. I personally think that’s something good because students should not do what they are not supposed to do.
In SHB, most of the students have really good friendship. We get along really well with pretty much everybody. In SHB, every student has different religions, but since we are taught to be friends with everyone. We make friends with people with different religions, too. There is no racism between students, and we respect all religions. I even have a best friend whose religion is different from mine, and it doesn’t really matter.
SHB often holds fun activities on special occasions, like Independence Day and Christmas, during which we play games and have various competitions. They even prepare prizes for the winners. SHB also holds really fun programs like Youth Camp, Leadership Camp and Edutrips. It’s something students, including me, really like because we get to spend several nights with friends, without parents, and experience new things.
Overall, I feel that SHB is a great school However, I think that they should find different games for competitions because I feel like the games are always similar. It’s still fun, but it would be better to think of new games. In this academic year, recess is 25 minutes, and lunch 20 minutes. One of the teachers said that they made the recess longer because most students had their meals during recess instead of lunch time. Even so, there are some students who eat lunch, and 20 minutes seems too short. In addition to that, it takes time for us to tidy up our things and go down to the canteen. Some of us also have to buy our food before we eat, and that takes time. That’s why I think SHB should make their lunch time a little longer. I really like the leveling in Mandarin and English classes, but the students should be put in the proper level that matches their skills, especially in English class. This year, my level has a lot of new students, but I can see that some of them can’t keep up really well. So I think SHB should be more thoughtful on placing the students in the right level next time. Overall, SHB is awesome.
