SHB Cup 2024

The SHB Cup is a competition between schools held by Sekolah Harapan Bangsa. At every closing ceremony, SHB always asks celebrities or singers from Indonesia to play in the closing concert. The name of this year's SHB Cup theme is Arcadia. We also had a horse with a wing, like Pegasus, as our mascot. SHB Cup has many competitions, such as basketball, badminton, Esports, English debate, Chinese storytelling, digital illustration, band, and modern dance. And for the closing, this year we have Kevin Kahuni as the MC, Bluestonia, Shanti Dewi Lie as the special performance, and Rizky Febian as the main star.

Monday, 11 November 2024, the day of the SHB cup opening, was a great opening; it started from 7.30 AM until 10 AM. Many schools come to join the competition, and many food stalls and other stalls sell food, toys and other things. The SHB cup was officially opened when Ms. Indra rang the famous Gong and threw the basketball inside the ring. It was a fun opening; however, we continued to study. Students took turns to support their basketball team. And for the next 5 days, the SHB Cup was going.

The SHB Cup was held from Monday to Saturday. Most people watched basketball games, but I didn’t; I am not a basketball fan. I walked around checking the food stall, eating, doing work, and others. Personally, last year's SHB Cup was more fun than now. But at the SHB junior competition, I watched it to get a third place; I was glad because we won. 

Saturday, November 16, was the closing of the SHB Cup. Starting from 3 PM until 8 PM, SHB invited many famous people to come: Kevin Kahuni as the MC, Bluestonia, Shanti Dewi Lie as the special performer, and Rizky Febian as the main star. They also had some bands from the SHB students who had graduated, and some SHB student bands played songs.

This year's SHB Cup was really fun; the games and food were good, but it could have been better. We also must thank the OSIS members who worked hard to ensure the SHB Cup went well and was without problems. It was a great week and show. I hope next year will be a more wonderful and fun SHB Cup.
