Kartini Day and Dharma Santi

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the students of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Primary Modernland held a regular school event, Hari Kartini (Kartini’s Day). On this occasion, the celebration was particularly special because it was combined with a Dharma Santi activity, whose observance closely coincided with Kartini’s Day.

This collaboration provided a more comprehensive approach to instilling social, cultural, and spiritual values in students. Dharma Santi itself is part of the series of celebrations following Hari Raya Nyepi and serves as a means of strengthening social relationships through mutual forgiveness, reinforcing the values of dharma, and fostering tolerance and brotherhood. In an educational context, this activity becomes a medium for reflection, helping students understand the importance of social harmony, peace, and unity in a diverse society.

Meanwhile, the commemoration of Kartini’s Day aims to honour the contributions of Raden Ajeng Kartini in advocating for women’s emancipation. The values emphasized include gender equality, the importance of education, and encouragement for students to become independent and creative individuals. Through this activity, students are expected to develop self-confidence, appreciate the role of women, and strengthen a sense of togetherness through traditional cultural expressions.

By integrating these two activities, the school not only promotes historical and cultural understanding but also fosters students’ character, encouraging them to uphold the values of tolerance, equality, and unity in diversity.

The event became even more lively as students, teachers, and the entire academic community participated in various preparations. One noteworthy effort was the preparation of regional songs accompanied by traditional costumes representing selected regions of Indonesia. Overall, the performances by students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 were excellent and clearly well-prepared. This spirit of collaboration serves as an important foundation for both intra- and extracurricular school activities.
