Microsoft Competition

On February 10th 2016, we participated in the Finals for the Core Application Competition.  Before that, we had participated in the online elimination round which was held in January. The final round was held in Microsoft Indonesia Office which was located in Jakarta Stock Exchange Building Tower II, and was followed by 8 other teams. We departed from school at 07.15, assisted by Mr Simon. The journey took a long time and we arrived at our destination at about 9. We did the re-registration and then we waited for a while outside the class because it wasn’t ready by the time we arrived. After the class was ready, we were asked to go in the class and sat based on the seat they had arranged for us. The seats were random and we were placed separately.

The event started with an opening speech and all the participants were told to do a simple self introduction, like our names, school, and also our dream. After that, the main event which was the final round of the competition started. The final round was way harder and the questions were more detailed than the first round. We were also only given 60 minutes and there were 20 simulation styled questions. Each questions consisted of 2 instructions that we had to follow. We could skip the questions if we couldn’t do it. The question we skipped would pop up again and we couldn’t skip those questions for the second time. Every participant had different finishing time because we had started in different time. After we finished the test, our results would pop out on the screen, telling us if we had failed or passed. It also tells us our scores, where the passing grade is 700 out of 1000. After seeing the results on our screen, we were instructed to go out from the class and wait for other participants to finish.

After the competition ended, we had to wait for the winner announcement. While waiting, we had lunch. Then, the announcement came out. We were all nervous because there wwas only 1 winner for each category. First, the participants who were qualified to get the International Microsoft Word Specialist were announced. There were 5 people from 28 participants who received the certificate. 2 from the 5 participants were from SMA Harapan Bangsa. They were Sherine Devi and Kevin Wijaya. The announcement was continued with the winner announcement for the best individual and also the best team category. It turned out that both categories were all won by SMA Harapan Bangsa. The best individual category was won by Sherine Devi. We received a certificate, a trophy, and also cash rewards. We would like to thank Mr. Simon and SHB for giving us the opportunity and experience to participate in this competition.

于2016年2月10日，我们参加了核心应用系统比赛。该比赛，1月份的时候已经在网上里进行了海选。总决赛举办于印尼微软办事处，坐落在雅加达证券交易所大楼 II. 本次的总决赛总共有8组。我们上午7点15分从学校出发，Simon老师陪伴着我们。路程需要约两个小时的时间才能到达目的地。到达目的地的时候已经上午9点钟了。我们重新登记后，就在外面等待，因为比赛场地还没准备好。比赛场地准备好后，我们就进入比赛场地，座位按照序列号来排。各组各校的座位被分开坐。

比赛开始之前有开幕式致辞，之后就各校介绍。总决赛的难度与海选来比更难也更细。我们有60分钟的时间解答20题的模拟考卷。每1题包括2种必须跟从与解决的指令。每位的参加者都有不同的时间完成任务，因为每位参加者在不同的时间开始比赛。完成任务后，我们的成绩是否通过还是失败会在屏幕上显示。参赛者的分数也同时会在屏幕上显示出来。之后，我们就在外面等着其他的参赛者完成他们的任务。

比赛完毕后，我们等着比赛结果。边等边吃委员会准备的午餐。等了一段时间，比赛结果终于出来了。首先，从27位的参赛者宣布了5位获得国际微软文字处理应用程序的特殊证书。其中2位是民望学校的高中生，Sherine Devi 同学和Kevin Wijaya同学。 之后，也宣布了个人和团组项的获胜者。Sherine Devi同学成为个人项的冠军，而民望学校的团组获得团组项的冠军。我们获得牌匾，证书和现金奖励。感谢Simon老师和民望学校已经让我们经历到令人难忘的经历。

Pada tanggal 10 Februari 2016, kami mengikuti babak final lomba Core Application Competition, di mana seleksinya telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari secara online. Babak final diadakan di Kantor Microsoft Indonesia, tepatnya di Jakarta Stock Exchange Building Tower II dan diikuti oleh 8 tim lainnya. Kami berangkat pada sekitar pukul 07.15, didampingi oleh Pak Simon. Perjalanannya memakan waktu yang tidak singkat karena kami sampai di tujuan pada sekitar pukul 9. Kami melakukan registrasi ulang lalu kami menunggu sebentar di luar ruangan lomba karena ruangannya belum siap. Setelah ruangannya siap, kami dipersilahkan untuk masuk dan duduk sesuai dengan urutan yang telah diberikan. Tempat duduk setiap anggota tim masing-masing sekolah dipisahkan.

Acara dimulai dengan kata sambutan dan juga perkenalan diri. Lalu, lomba dimulai. Babak final tersebut lebih detail dan tingkat kesulitannya lebih sulit dibanding dengan babak seleksi sebelumnya. Kami diberi waktu sebanyak 60 menit untuk mengerjakan 20 soal simulasi, di mana 1 soal simulasi memiliki 2 perintah yang harus kami ikuti dan selesaikan. Setiap orang memiliki waktu selesai yang yang berbeda-beda karena waktu mulai setiap orang berbeda sehingga 60 menit tersebut dihitung dari waktu mulai masing-masing orang. Setelah selesai mengerjakan, hasil lulus atau gagal akan dipertunjukkan di layar. Begitu pula dengan nilai yang kami peroleh. Lalu, kami keluar dan menunggu peserta lainnya untuk selesai.

Setelah lomba selesai, kami menunggu hasil pengumuman. Sambil menunggu hasil, kami diberi makan siang oleh panitia acara. Akhirnya setelah sekian lama menunggu, hasil pengumuman keluar. Pertama, dibacalah 5 orang dari 27 orang yang mendapatkan sertifikat Internasional Microsoft Word Spesialis. 2 dari 5 orang tersebut merupakan siswa SMA Harapan Bangsa, yaitu Sherine Devi dan Kevin Wijaya. Lalu, pemenang individu dan tim diumumkan. Sherine Devi memenangkan kategori individu dan SMA Harapan Bangsa memenangkan kategori tim. Kami membawa pulang penghargaan berupa plakat, sertifikat, dan juga uang penghargaan. Kami berterima kasih kepada Pak Simon dan juga SHB yang telah memberikan kami pengalaman yang tak terlupakan ini.
