Chinese New Year Musical Drama “The Story of Chinese Zodiacs"

On February 10, 2017, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Preschool Modernland celebrated the annual event called “Chinese New Year Celebration”. We invited Mrs Indra T. Honoris, the Deputy Chairman of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa; Mr Bernard Rasli, Mr Jossy Sugondo, Mr Sidharta, and all the principals from Primary, Junior – Senior High School and Cambridge (Modernland and Modernhill) and parents to participate in this celebration.
In this Chinese New Year Celebration, Preschool students performed the musical drama called “The Story of Chinese Zodiacs”. This event aims to encourage the students to perform in front of the audience to make them understand further the Chinese culture especially the story of Chinese zodiacs, as well as to show the development of the children to their parents. Both children and teachers worked hard and trained for more than two months to prepare for this event.
The musical drama ran smoothly and joyfully from the beginning until the end. All the children showed their incredible ability on the stage and attracted all the audience to give them a round of applause. The show lasted for 2 hours, and on that day we saw the happiness of the children and their self-confidence. It made us understand the real meaning of Chinese New Year celebration. At the same time, all the children could directly experience the joyful ambience of the Chinese New Year. The barongsai and lion dance became the peak of the show. These were the shows that all the audience was waiting for. We could see the satisfaction of the parents and it made us understand the meaning of the success.

2017年2月10日，民望学校幼儿园迎来了一年一次的中国农历新年庆祝活动，我们邀请了民望学校副校董陈国英女士、Bernard Rasli先生、Jossy Sugondo先生、Sidharta先生及小学、初中、高中、分校校长们、家长们出席参加这次活动。
今年幼儿园小朋友们饰演音乐剧《十二生肖的故事》。为了这个演出，为了能让孩子们大胆表现自己，了解中国的习俗和认识生肖的由来，并让家长们看到自己孩子的进步成长，小朋友们和老师们花了足足两个月多的时间精心策划排练。
活动在热烈、欢乐、喜庆、和谐的气氛中顺利举行。小朋友们表演地有声有色，观众们也是乐不思蜀。表演进行了两个小时，小朋友们那天真灿烂的笑容和甜甜的话语以及很自信的演出，使我们感受到新年的快乐和成长的喜悦。同时也让小朋友们充分体验、感受到节日带来的快乐。节目最后令人期待的舞狮舞龙表演更是锦上添花。看到家长们满意的笑容，我们也非常富有成就感。

Pada tanggal 10 Februari 2017, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Preschool Modernland kembali merayakan Tahun Baru Imlek yang merupakan kegiatan rutin tahunan yang diadakan oleh pihak sekolah. Kami mengundang Ibu Indra T. Honoris selaku Deputy Chairman Sekolah Harapan Bangsa, Bapak Bernard Rasli, Bapak Jossy Sugondo, Bapak Sidharta beserta para Kepala Sekolah SD, SMP, SMA,Cambridge (Modernland dan Modernhill) serta para orang tua murid untuk menghadiri kegiatan perayaan ini.
Pada perayaan Imlek tahun ini, anak-anak preschool menampilkan drama musikal yang berjudul Legenda 12 shio. Demi agar anak-anak berani untuk tampil di depan umum dan agar mereka bisa mengerti tentang kebudayaan Tiongkok serta mengetahui asal mula 12 shio, serta agar para orang tua bisa menyaksikan perkembangan dari anak-anak mereka,maka anak-anak ini beserta para guru telah menghabiskan waktu lebih dari 2 bulan untuk mempersiapkan persembahan drama musikal ini.
Acara drama musikal berlangsung dengan meriah serta berjalan dengan lancar dari awal sampai akhir. Anak-anak menunjukkan kemampuan mereka yang luar biasa dan mendapatkan sambutan hangat dari para penonton. Pertunjukkan berlangsung selama 2 jam, dan pada hari itu wajah anak-anak menunjukkan kegembiraan dan kepercayaan diri yang luar biasa. Sehingga kami semua merasakan makna sebenarnya dari tahun baru Imlek tersebut. Pada saat bersamaan, anak-anak juga merasakan secara langsung suasana kegembiraan pada perayaan Imlek. Acara ditutup dengan penampilan Barongsai dan Liong yang sangat ditunggu-tunggu oleh para penonton. Melihat wajah yang penuh kepuasan dari para orang tua siswa, membuat kami semakin merasakan arti dari sebuah keberhasilan.
