[:en]The new 2017/2018 school year in senior/junior high school of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill had officially started on 17th of July 2017. Like previous years, the new school year also started with the School Environment Introduction MPLS or Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah. All members of the Student Council of both junior and senior high had planned and created a programme rundown and the event was a huge success.

On the first day of school, all students gathered in the school hall to start their first morning assembly of 2017/2018. The assembly began with a morning prayer together with a series of SHB Pledges. After that, our principal of Junior high Ms Juni , gave an outstanding  opening speech. She then introduced a team of amazingly brilliant teachers who will guide and teach the students for the upcoming year.

When teachers were introduced, the grade 7 and 10 students were separated. They were then divided into various groups for the school tour, which was led by members of the student council.  Throughout the school tour, students became familiar with their new school building and at the end of the tour, our school Librarian Ms Ria shared some information and rules about the school's library. Meanwhile, the students of grade 8,9,11 and 12 gathered with their class teachers for some quality homeroom time. During this time, the students had an opportunity to prepare and decorate their classrooms.

After decorating their rooms, all students gathered on the basketball court and it was here where all the fun took place. It was the beginning of a brand new academic year again, and we welcomed many new faces to join our school. Therefore, it was imperative that we made our new colleagues feel welcome and comfortable in their new environment. So, we engaged in various ice breaking activities where current students together with the new students got an opportunity to share with others their own names and special interests. This included some ball games and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

The first day concluded with an exciting game called Bingo Hunt. Bingo hunt consists of the famous bingo game itself, but to add further excitement, the children had to look for a certain key code consisting of a number of vocabulary words which had been spread out over the school's area.  Students worked tirelessly throughout and it became very competitive. After that, all groups gathered in the school hall where they collected their answer card and listened to the answers from the question paper. The first day of school was quite an exciting and adventurous experience, particularly for all the new students.

On the second day of the new academic year, grades 7 and 10 now had their homeroom time, while grades 8,9,11 and 12 got an opportunity to also decorate their classrooms. Moreover, some students were allocated to help assist with their friends with cleaning activates outside of their classrooms. The children demonstrated huge desire and enthusiasm to ensure that their school is to remain a litter free zone for the upcoming academic year.

After all cleaning activities were completed, students gathered on the basketball court to play another bonding game called “Traffic Lights”. Some members of the student council hosted the game in which they would shout out certain keywords and students had to create a series of groups. One key phrase   included “Tugu Pancoran”, where the children had to try and imitate the Tugu Pancoran itself. This was really exciting and entertaining to be able to watch your friends  try to imitate some dancing methods. Another keyword was “Oarsman”, where the children had to make groups of four and imitate the action of rowing. One of the most intriguing words was “Penta”. This involved everyone coming together to gather in groups of fives to hold each other’s hands. This awkward yet intriguing and peculiar game had succeeded in improving the children’s agility and teamwork skills. All students participated wholeheartedly in this game and we got great enjoyments and fulfillment throughout this activity.

After recess, our new discipline coordinator Ms Martha of both junior and senior high school, explained briefly to us about the school's discipline policies and provided us with a short list of rules. The programme continued with a presentation from the Happy Hearts Fund Indonesia with Mr. Usman. Happy Hearts Fund Indonesia is an organization which raises funds to rebuild schools that were affected by natural disasters. It assists and helps to provide funding for schools' renovations and to help rebuild over 150 schools in Indonesia. Finally, the Junior and Senior students also witnessed a unique presentation on bullying.

On the last day, the flag ceremony was held and was hosted by all members of the junior and senior student council. Mr Fitra then explained about the  CCA programme for the new academic year and the day closed with Halal bi Halal.[:zh]于2017年7月17日，现代山庄民望学校初高中部举办了解学校环境的活动。如过去几年的活动一样，在本次的新学年里，举办了了解学校环境的活动。初高中的学生会已经设定好节目，让活动能够顺利的进行。

第一天开学的时候，于2017年7月17日，所有的学生集合在现代山庄民望学校初高中校楼的大堂。进行他们在本新学年的首次的聚会。开幕祈祷及朗读了学生宣誓之后，现代山庄民望学校初中校长，Juni女士上台发开幕词。同时，也为学生们介绍了初高中的老师。

介绍了老师之后，第七年级及第十年级的学生被分为几个小组。由学生会带领他们游览学校。目的就是希望所有的新生能够了解学校的设备及环境。除了游览学校之外，学校的图书馆管理员Ria女士，也向学生们讲解了有关图书馆的规则。此外，第八，第九，第十一，第十二年级的学生与他们的班主任一起参与了班级会议。一起设定了班级的结构。选了几位班长，副班长，秘书及出纳员。

该两项活动结束后，所有的学生集合在篮球场，形成了两个大圈。每个大圈里放了一个球子。由旧生先扔球并说出自己的姓名，之后把球子给了新生，而新生就必须说出自己的姓名以及说出扔球者的姓名。该程序一直不断地重复直到结束为止。该游戏果然是一种很有效的游戏，让学生们能够互相认识。尤其是，对新生有很好的益处。

之后，所有的学生被分为10个小组，一起参与宾果狩猎的游戏。该游戏是一种很简单的游戏，参与者必须到学校的每个角落寻找已经被贴住的关键词。由几位高中的学生会成员成为关键词的主人。游戏结束之后，学生会的委员会说出关键词的答案，并公开该关键词的场地。

第二天的活动终于开始了。今天就轮到第七及第十年级的学生参与班级会议。而，第八，第九，第十一及第十二年级的学生根据他们的班主任把他们的教室装饰。没参与装饰教室的学生就必须参与清扫活动。参与清扫活动的学生把学校环境清理。之后，集合在篮球场形成一个大圈参与“红灯”的游戏。委员会讲解有关游戏的规则。该游戏有5个指示，如：Pancoran纪念塔（学生们必须摆姿势像一座纪念塔），跳舞（两名学生手牵手一起跳舞），红灯（三名学生排队，有的蹲着，有的半站，有的站住。之后，很快速度地把手指打开），划（五名学生排队冒充划船的动作），集合（五名学生形成一个圈子，并互相的牵手）。本游戏的目的是要锻炼学生的速度，若是有学生无法服从指示，那么该学生就被淘汰。

休息时间结束后，Martha老师作为现代山庄民望学校初高中部的纪律主管讲解有关学生手册的内容。Yanti老师作为去年的纪律主管，也讲解有关学生的次要错误以及主要错误。其次，由Usman先生来自印尼开心基金会演讲。开心基金会是一个专门募集基金资助学校装修的基金会（尤其是资助那些贫穷的学校，例如：没屋顶，没门子，等等）。他们已经资助了在印尼150家的贫穷学校。演讲之后，初中及高中的学生被分组。让他们参与有关欺凌的讲座。

最后一天的活动，所有的学生参与升旗仪式。学生会的委员会成为仪式官及合唱队。之后，Fitra先生作为课外活动的负责人讲解有关的本新学年的课外活动的类别。介绍学校环境活动结束之后，大家一起参与感恩会。所有的学生及老师互相握手表示道歉。这三天的活动圆满成功的进行。[:id]Tahun ajaran baru 2017/2018 di SMP/SMA Harapan Bangsa Modernhill resmi dimulai pada tanggal 17 Juli 2017. Sama seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya, tahun ajaran baru ini pun dimulai dengan MPLS atau Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah. Para anggota OSIS SMP/SMA telah merencanakan acara ini sedemikian rupa, sehingga acara berjalan sukses.

Pada hari pertama, tepatnya tanggal 17 Juli, murid berkumpul di dalam hall gedung SMP/SMA Harapan Bangsa Modernhill untuk memulai assembly pertama mereka di tahun ini. Pagi itu pun dimulai dengan doa dan janji siswa. Kemudian, Ms. Juni selaku kepala sekolah SMP Harapan Bangsa Modernhill memberikan sambutan kepada semua muridnya. Tidak lupa beliau memperkenalkan guru-guru yang akan mengajar murid-murid ini selama setahun ke depan.

Setelah perkenalan guru, murid kelas 7 dan 10 terpisah. Mereka dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok yang dipandu oleh OSIS untuk school tour. School tour ini bertujuan supaya murid baru bisa mengetahui tempat-tempat di sekolah mereka. Selain school tour, mereka juga mendapatkan penjelasan dari Ms. Ria selaku pustakawan tentang perpustakaan sekolah. Sementara itu, murid kelas 8, 9, 11 dan 12 bersama wali kelas mereka mengadakan homeroom time. Tidak lupa juga struktur kelas dibentuk. Beberapa murid terpilih menjadi ketua kelas, wakil ketua kelas, sekretaris, dan bendahara.

Setelah kedua acara selesai, seluruh murid berkumpul di lapangan basket dan membentuk dua lingkaran besar, masing-masing lingkaran diberi satu bola. Siswa lama yang pertama melempar bola menyebutkan namanya, kemudian memberikannya kepada siswa baru. siswa baru tersebut menyebutkan namanya dan nama sang pelempar. Siswa ini kemudian melemparkan bolanya ke siswa lama. Sama seperti sebelumnya, siswa harus menyebutkan namanya dan nama orang yang melempar bola. Langkah tersebut dilakukan berulang-ulang hingga waktu habis. Permainan ini adalah cara yang asyik untuk mengenal satu sama lain, terutama untuk murid-murid baru.

Semua murid pun dibagi menjadi sepuluh kelompok untuk bermain bingo hunt. Bingo hunt adalah permainan bingo biasa, namun peserta harus mencari kata kunci yang telah ditempel di beberapa sudut sekolah. Beberapa pengurus OSIS SMA pun menjadi bandar kata kunci. Setelah game berakhir, panitia OSIS pun menyebutkan kata kunci yang dimaksud dan letaknya di sekitar SHB.

Pada hari kedua, giliran kelas 7 dan 10 yang mengadakan homeroom time. Sementara itu, murid kelas 8, 9, 11 dan 12 mendekorasi kelas mereka, dibimbing oleh wali kelas. Beberapa murid yang tidak mendekor kelas pun mengikuti clean-up day. Siswa yang mengikuti clean-up day membersihkan lingkungan sekolah dan di depannya. Kemudian, semua murid membuat satu lingkaran besar di lapangan basket untuk bermain permainan “Lampu Merah”. Panitia pun menjelaskan cara bermain. Terdapat lima instruksi, yaitu “Tugu Pancoran” (para murid berpose seperti Tugu Pancoran), “Berdansa” (dua murid saling berpegang tangan dan berdansa), “Lampu Merah” (tiga murid berbaris; masing-masing murid ada yang jongkok, setengah berdiri, dan berdiri, lalu membuka-tutup jari dengan cepat), “Mendayung” (empat murid berbaris dan melalukan gerakan mendayung), dan “Berkumpul” (lima murid membuat sebuah lingkaran sambil berpegang tangan). Game ini bertujuan untuk melatih kecepatan, karena jika murid gagal melakukan instruksi maka murid tersebut akan keluar dari game.

Setelah jam istirahat, Ms. Martha selaku discipline coordinator SMP/SMA Harapan Bangsa Modernhill menjelaskan tentang handbook yang akan dibagikan kepada murid-murid. Ms. Yanti sebagai discipline coordinator tahun sebelumnya pun turut menjelaskan tentang penerapan minor strike dan major strike. Acara dilanjutkan dengan presentasi yang dibawakan oleh Mr. Usman dari Happy Hearts Fund Indonesia. Happy Hearts Fund adalah sebuah organisasi yang menggalang dana untuk mendanai renovasi sekolah-sekolah yang kurang layak (tak beratap, tak berpintu, dsb.). Mereka telah mendanai renovasi lebih dari 150 sekolah di Indonesia. Setelah presentasi tersebut, murid SMP dan SMA dipisah, lalu diberi penyuluhan tentang perundungan (bullying).

Pada hari terakhir MPLS, upacara pengibaran bendera pun diadakan. Para panitia OSIS menjadi petugas upacara dan paduan suara. Kemudian, Mr. Fitra selaku penanggung jawab CCA (kegiatan ekstrakurikuler) menjelaskan tentang ekskul apa saja yang akan diadakan selama setahun ke depan. MPLS pun ditutup dengan acara Halal bi Halal. Para murid dan guru pun saling bersalaman dan bermaaf-maafan. Acara selama tiga hari ini berjalan dengan amat lancar.[:]
