On Wednesday, 1^st August 2018, Secondary School of Harapan Bangsa Modernhill organised an activity called “One Day with Secondary”.

This activity involved all 6^th graders of Elementary School of Harapan Bangsa Modernhill. The purpose of this activity was to introduce activities in the Junior High School unit, especially the teaching and learning activities, as well as to promote the JH School to all 6^th graders.

This activity was conducted by having some demonstrations of several lessons, such as: Science, Arts, and Sports. The demonstration of science lessons was led by Mr. Prime for Biology class, Mr. Musafar for Physics class and Mr. Aji for Chemistry class while for Arts and Sports, they were led by Ms. Pipit and Mr. Fitra.

In the Biology class, the students tested the content of carbohydrates from several samples of foods, such as: biscuits, potatoes, and eggs.

Meanwhile, in the Chemistry class, the 6^th graders were invited to find out the reaction of neutralization “Magic Bubble” and to observe the reaction of dry ice mixed with hot water. Besides that, the students also learned about sedimentation reactions to prove that there are special reactions in certain solutions that can produce sediment.

In the Physics class, the students were introduced to the light sensor. The purpose of this learning was to observe that the lights will be working when the sensor is closed. In daily life, it can be found in the garden lights. Another activity conducted was related to optics in order to observe the results of the shadow formed by several lenses. Physics class was also conducted by having the oscilloscope materials in order to observe the frequency patterns produced by sound waves.

In Arts class, the students were taught to make tablecloths using natural materials, such as: banana leaves, cassava leaves, and also flowers. Finally, this one-day activity with Junior High School was ended with their most favorite class, which was sports class, by having a basketball game.

All of 6^th graders enthusiastically joined and participated in “One Day with Secondary” activities.[:zh]

[:id]Pada hari Rabu, 1 Agustus 2018 unit SMP Harapan Bangsa Modernhill mengadakan kegiatan yang bernama “One Day with Secondary”.

Kegiatan ini melibatkan seluruh murid SD kelas 6 Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill.  Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengenalkan dengan kegiatan yang ada di unit SMP, khususnya kegiatan belajar-mengajar dan juga sekaligus untuk mempromosikan SMP Harapan Bangsa Modernhill kepada seluruh murid kelas 6.

Kegiatan ini diisi dengan pelajaran seperti IPA,  Seni Rupa dan juga Olah Raga.  Pelajaran IPA dipandu oleh Bapak Prime untuk kelas Biologi, Bapak Musafar untuk kelas Fisika dan Bapak Aji untuk kelas Kimia. Pelajaran Seni Rupa dan Olah Raga dipandu oleh Ibu Pipit dan Bapak Fitra.

Adapun kegiatan yang dilakukan pada pelajaran Biologi adalah anak-anak menguji kandungan karbohidrat dari beberapa contoh makanan, seperti: biskuit, kentang dan telur.

Untuk pelajaran Kimia, murid-murid kelas 6 diajak untuk mengetahui reaksi netralisasi “Magic Bubble” dan mengamati reaksi es kering (Dry Ice) dengan air panas. Selain itu, pada kelas Kimia, mereka belajar mengenai reaksi pengendapan untuk membuktikan ada reaksi khusus pada larutan tertentu yang dapat menghasilkan endapan.

Dalam pelajaran Fisika, siswa-siswa dikenalkan tentang sensor cahaya. Tujuan dari pembelajaran ini untuk melihat bahwa lampu akan menyala ketika sensor ditutup. Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, hal ini dapat ditemui pada lampu taman. Selain itu, kegiatan juga diisi dengan materi tentang optik untuk melihat hasil bayangan yang dibentuk oleh beberapa lensa. Pelajaran Fisika juga diisi dengan materi osiloskop untuk melihat pola frekuensi yang dihasilkan oleh gelombang suara.

Pada pelajaran Seni Rupa, para siswa diajak membuat taplak meja dengan menggunakan bahan alami, seperti: daun pisang, daun singkong, dan juga bunga. Kegiatan satu hari dengan SMP ini juga diisi dengan pelajaran yang paling mereka minati, yaitu Olah Raga dengan permainan basket.

Semua anak – anak  kelas 6 antusias mengikuti dan berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan “One Day with Secondary”.[:]
