[:en]According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 1 out of every 691 children are born with Down Syndrome -and that some of them have been needlessly abandoned.
SHB Cambridge have brought forth their concern by taking their students to the Bina Grahita orphanage in Kali Deres. For their first activity, Nichita (CS3), Jennifer (CS3), Claudya (CS3) and Quiva (CS2) taught a variety of songs to the children. The students were the divided into groups of six and seven to help the children -they showed them the different wonders of colors and also demonstrated how a puzzle is solved. Finally, the students gave Bina Grahita orphanage's children goodie bags filled with snacks and drinks. Farewells were exchanged and SHB went back with happy faces.
“Please come back again next week. Thank you for today!” said a girl from the orphanage to Nichita.
